Ricardo Jiménez, MD


Dr. Ricardo Jiménez began practicing medicine at Sea Mar in 1990 and has been Sea Mar’s Medical Director since 1995. He continues to practice as a physician, caring for patients at the Seattle clinic.

Dr. Jiménez earned his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, Perú, in 1982. In 1989, he completed his family residency program at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he also finished a faculty development fellowship in 1990.

As Medical Director, Dr. Jiménez oversees Sea Mar’s comprehensive health services, using an integrated delivery system model. He also oversees Sea Mar’s Office of Medical Education, which includes all Sea Mar residency programs. He holds a Clinical Associate Professor appointment at the University of Washington School Of Medicine, and has vast experience lecturing and precepting family medicine residents and medical students in clinical and hospital settings.

Dr. Jiménez has extensive cross-cultural experience working with diverse populations in Community Health Centers. One of his primary interests is the advancement of students of diverse ethnic backgrounds in the health care field through education, mentoring, advising, and international/global health issues. His other primary interest is implementing family medicine education programs in developing countries as a means of improving their primary care system.

When not involved in medicine and education he enjoys playing the guitar and he is also a soccer enthusiast. Dr. Jiménez takes great pride in promoting sports and literacy activities in his native hometown of Sullana, Perú.

Director of Medical Education

Daniel Byrd, MPH


Daniel obtained his bachelors degree in 2009 and started working for Sea Mar Community Health Centers helping to develop provider productivity analysis models. In 2010, Daniel joined the Swedish General Surgery and Podiatric Surgery Residency Programs as a Medical Education Coordinator. After 5 wonderful years with the two residency programs he took an opportunity to join the Cherry Hill Family Medicine Residency as a Manager. In 2015, he completed his Masters in Public Health at the University of Washington. Currently, he is excited to be serving the mission at Sea Mar as the Director of Medical Education.  He enjoys running, hiking/backpacking, and is continuing to learn how to sail.

Residency Coordinator

Tami Soderberg, BS


Tami Soderberg has been in the Medical/Dental field for over 25 years.  She began her career as a US Navy trained Dental Assistant.  After leaving active duty she continued as a Dental Assistant in Lynnwood and Vancouver WA before moving into the administrative side of the healthcare field.  She spent many years with Delta Dental of Washington before transitioning to Medical Staff Credentialing and achieving certification as a CPCS.  After taking a few years off to complete her BS degree followed by a detour into branded merchandising, she is now beginning her career as the Sea Mar Marysville Family Medicine Residency Coordinator.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and rooting for her beloved Seattle Seahawks.
