During the R-2 or R-3 years residents will have the opportunity for a 4-week international elective rotation. We are currently developing away rotation experiences in Central and South America. These are sites where Sea Mar Seattle Family Medicine residents and faculty have had good experiences. This year we had a resident join Providence St. Joseph Health Global Partnerships on a 4 week rotation to Malawi, East Africa.  Dr’s. Ben and Mariel Bryden have recently joining our faculty after working at a residency in Lesotho, Southern Africa so there is another possibility in the making.

We are currently developing opportunities for an elective rural rotation during the R-2 or R-3 year. Likely locations include smaller, rural Sea Mar clinics in Everson, Concrete, Monroe, Ocean Shores, Aberdeen, Elma and Yelm. We are also developing other sites for rural rotations, including non-Sea Mar sites. One possible option is Darrington.
