About Matthew Hansen

Medical School: Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

Residency: University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Matthew Hansen practices hospital based medicine at Providence medical center in Everett. He has been at Providence since 2014.

Dr. Hansen earned his undergraduate degree in Neurobiology at the University of Washington. After college he spend 2 years researching mammalian hindbrain development at the University of Washington. Dr. Hansen earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University. He then completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado. During residency Dr. Hansen focused on hospital based care, quality improvement and medical education.

Dr. Hansen is active in teaching at Providence medical center and has been an attending on the UW medical student team since 2015. He has also been working on the design of the inpatient rotation of the residency program since 2014. Dr. Hansen and the hospitalist team are very excited for residents to start at Providence. Dr. Hansen also sits on the steering committee for the medical hospital team. Outside of work he enjoys everything the PNW has to offer including hiking, boating and fishing.
