We have really enjoyed interviewing the residency applicants so far! There are a lot of folks desiring to train in a FQHC with career plans to work with the underserved, and also get robust OB and inpatient medicine training, and to have strong full spectrum skills for their career after graduation.
We did not receive the class expansion grant, there were only 5 awarded nationally. However, we are still actively thinking about expanding next year, if we do it will likely be to a more modest 8 residents per year, from our current 6-6-6 size. We will make that decision soon, and update you in this blog.
We have decided to start an OB Fellowship, which will be pioneered by Zeena Al-Tai and Kirstin Hansen, our current Chief residents. Exciting! Please stay tune for further developments about these issues and other residency news. To all 4th years that we have met, thank you for interviewing here, enjoy your final rotations and good luck in the match!
